I have been spending a lot of time over the last few years researching different type of instrument repairs, particularly violin repairs.
The best violin repairers have always had the best techniques, ideas, materials and attitude towards the repairs for instruments. I try to emulate that attitude when repairing concertinas.
'Do no harm' should always be the first rule to follow and I firmly believe that all instruments should be treated with this in mind. I try to take an very empathetic approach when making repairs, and always when possible, use reversible glues and try to keep an instrument as close to its original condition as I can.
